PENSA-KNUST respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the PENSA-KNUST mobile app collects, uses, stores, and protects user information.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

• Account information such as name, email address, phone number, and user ID.
• Membership information such as hall, hostel, zone, family, floor, area, department, wing, guild, assembly, college, program of study, and academic level.
• Attendance information such as service attendance, check-in time, attendance status, points, streaks, and punctuality records.
• Location information used for attendance check-in and follow-up verification features.
• Background location information, if permission is granted, to support automated geofence attendance when a service is active.
• Follow-up records such as follow-up status, comments, contact method, leader responsible, and optional location details.
• Birthday information for birthday reminders and leadership lists.
• Devotion activity such as completed devotions, reading streaks, and completion duration.
• Device notification tokens used to send push notifications.
• Community, broadcast, announcement, notice, event, and message-related activity.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create and manage member accounts and profiles.
• Support church attendance and check-in features.
• Provide leader and admin dashboards.
• Show leaders members within their assigned jurisdiction.
• Generate follow-up and at-risk member lists.
• Send announcements, notices, events, reminders, and push notifications.
• Support Bible devotion tracking and reading streaks.
• Support community communication and church administration.
• Improve pastoral care, accountability, and administrative operations.

Location Information

The app may request location permission to support attendance and follow-up features. Background location may be used only when the user grants permission and only for automated geofence attendance while a service is active. Location information is not used for advertising.

Data Sharing

We do not sell user data. Information may be visible to authorized PENSA-KNUST leaders, ushers, administrators, or system administrators based on assigned roles and jurisdictions. We may use trusted service providers such as Supabase, Expo, Google, and Apple to provide authentication, storage, notifications, and app services.

Third-Party Services

The app may use:

• Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and backend services.
• Expo services for push notifications and app functionality.
• Google OAuth for Google sign-in.
• Apple OAuth for Apple sign-in.
• Google Maps links for viewing follow-up or location information.

Data Retention

We keep user data as long as needed for church administration, attendance records, pastoral care, security, audit, and operational purposes. Some records, such as attendance or follow-up history, may be retained where necessary for legitimate church records.

User Choices

Users can disable location permissions and notifications in their device settings. Users may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data.
